This photo shows a statue of Larry Joe Bird, a basketball player with the Boston Celtics from 1979 to 1992. He was named NBA most valuable player three times and won a gold medal at the Olympics in 1992. He was coach of the year from 1997 to 1998. The statue includes his baseball shoes and the plaque is worn away either side of them, probably because fans have posed for photos with their feet either side of them.
